Welcome to my website about aircraft spotting!
I have been interested in aviation since I was 12 years old, so it is quite a few years now... My big dream in life was to become an Air Traffic Controller but several circumstances never made it possible, so today I am a devoted spotter instead.
Earlier I have been listening to the communication between the aircraft and the controllers both on VHF and HF, decoding ACARS and taking pictures of planes. In the digital age I have, like many other spotters, started to decode radar instead.
To have my own radar is something I have wanted for a very long time and during 2012 some very clever person discovered that it was possible to decode the signals from aircraft transponders with a very cheap USB-radio, which is originally made for watching TV.
Not long after I discovered the USB-radios I had my own on the table in front of me and that is one of the best things I ever bought. Since the day I got my own radar to work I have changed my spotting to only radar spotting and collecting registration numbers of the aircraft my radar sees.
Since December 2014 I have got 6700 different aircraft in my database, including many MIL aircraft and Air Force One.
